ക്ഷ (ksha) is a compound letter in Malayalam, often associated with the saying, “മൂക്കുകൊണ്ട് ‘ക്ഷ’ വരപ്പിക്കും” (“I’ll make you draw ‘ക്ഷ' with your nose!”), which many Malayali children grew up hearing as a playful threat when they were up to mischief. Today, this saying is fading in relevance, as nothing seems impossibly hard anymore. Interestingly, the letter ക്ഷ even has a nose in its shape!
